Classicsim Motion Base

Home

No copilot panel installed yet.  Installed black vinyl to cover the ugly portions of the cockpit and the motion system.  Also, had to disassemble my base about 3 weeks ago, so I carpeted my Sim Room.  Sim room is 16 x 18 feet with 12 foot ceiling

If I had it to do again, I would have probably built the “cockpit” from scratch.  Converting an actual Beech 18 was (and still is) a challenge!

Flight Link Radio Stack installed, not completely working yet tho!

Motion Base - Galil card is just to the left, not permanently mounted yet.  Need to find a project box for it.

I quit using the Classicflight Motion System as the feedback wasn't working the way it needed to be.  I hired Mark Barry of http://www.inmotionsimulation.com and bought a Galil http://www.galilmc.com controller card which hooks to the flight simulation via ethernet and Inmotion's software.

Picture taken from left side, The center post has been significantly “beefed up”

Single cylinder with the http://spaceagecontrols.com string encoder (blue) installed.  This high precision position feedback is mandatory for a quality motion base!  I am very impressed with Space Age's quality.  I may change my flight controls over to their string encoders also.
